We had quite the weekend at the Myers house. It was Nate's first time being out of town overnight (besides the Cook banquet) since Cooper has been born. He spent the weekend with his best buddies in St. Louis while Cooper and I spent the weekend in Ellettsville with Grandma Kim. We had a wonderful time. I had to feel kind of sorry for my Mom as my bedtime has been getting earlier and earlier over the past few months and she is something of a night owl. Just like when I was in elementary school I was awakened by her to go to bed because I had fallen asleep on the couch. I'm so fortunate to have such a wonderful Mother that would give up her weekend to come, watch the baby, and help me clean. Blessed I believe is the most appropriate word. Nate also had a great time. I know that it was good for him to get away for the weekend but Cooper, Lola and I sure are glad to have him home!
One more week of school and I will be on spring break. Cooper and I have big plans. Hopefully we will get a chance to see Laura and Baby Blake (who is going to be five weeks this week!), I'm going to the eye doctor, and Mom and I are taking a day to go shopping. Okay. So it's not the same as the big plans that I used to have. Those plans always entailed the following: 1) buying a new bikini and other essential warm weather wear, 2) hitting the gym beginning in February so as to look decent in said bikini, 3) hitting the tanning bed for at least two weeks prior to spring break so that I would not spend my vacation looking like a lobster, 4) downloading a "Spring Break Playlist" onto my iPod mini - which to look at now is not so mini (said list usually consisted of Usher, Justing Timberlake, Destiny's Child, some song about "getting low" and the other newest R&B and pop songs), and 5) heading south with my girlfriends to a much warmer place than Indiana. Now I'm pretty sure preparing for spring break will be the following: 1) buying new clothes so as to fit over my new "Mama figure" which, let's face it, just won't look the same in a tube top, 2) running - to the kitchen that is for my new bag of potato chips, 3) instead of tanning my legs, maybe I'll shave them, 4) did somebody say Radio Disney?, and 5) heading south - to the couch to catch up on my smut TV that has been DVR'd because I can't stay awake to watch it in it's typical 10:00 time slot. And you know what? I wouldn't change a thing about it. Because this spring break is going to be spent with Cooper. Evenings with Nate and a couple of nights with my Mom will round it out and I can't wait. Because as you get older, your priorities change and there is nothing, NOTHING on this earth that I love more than my family.
As I type this, ISU won the Missouri Valley championship. They're going to the tournament and that is SO EXCITING!
Here are some pictures from our weekend. Of course, I was instructed on Friday to send as many pictures as possible of Cooper to Nate so I have quite a few. I'll share my favorites!
