Where To Start?

I had big plans to blog every day over my spring break. I was going to do some major updating and be insightful and witty. Folks, it just didn't happen. Sometimes life gets in the way of these major plans. It did for me this week.

I cannot believe that spring break is over. It took forever for it to get here and it was gone in an instant. While it was wonderful and relaxing and everything I thought it would be, it just left me wanting more. I enjoyed my time with my Mom as I always do. She's fabulous. I loved being home with the nice weather and the windows open. Cooper and I walked, watched basketball, and had an all around good week. We visited friends, watched smut TV, and slept in. It was glorious. So now I sit and wait for summer break. Not wait. I LONG for summer break. I think I can, I think I can...

We have made a giant leap into solid foods. Alright, I took a giant leap. I just wasn't ready for it! I refuse to rush this kid through childhood so we have to do one thing at a time. However in the past week he has decided to come VERY close to cutting his first tooth, sit up on his own and start solid foods. I...am...not...ready. Next thing I know he'll be walking, then talking, then going to school...I just can't handle it! And that's why we must take things slowly. So Mommy doesn't have a mental breakdown.

Anyways, when we went to visit Ashley there was a Babies R Us very close so we stopped by to pick up teething rings (which Cooper does not like) and baby food (which he hates!). My cabinet now looks like this...

Squash was the new food of the day and it was like I was giving him mud. He was not pleased.

St. Patrick's Day was this week as well and of course Cooper wore his green. Here he is being a little stud.

And here he is trying to get to some leftover tortilla chips from the Mexican restaurant.

Here he is being his usual flirty self in his sweet pants from Bobby and Cheri.

And here's poor Lola after a week at home with Cooper and I. Poor girl.

So for tonight it's back to switching between some very exciting basketball and the Harry Potter marathon because I am in fact that big of a nerd.

It Was a First

We had quite the weekend at the Myers house.  It was Nate's first time being out of town overnight (besides the Cook banquet) since Cooper has been born.  He spent the weekend with his best buddies in St. Louis while Cooper and I spent the weekend in Ellettsville with Grandma Kim.  We had a wonderful time.  I had to feel kind of sorry for my Mom as my bedtime has been getting earlier and earlier over the past few months and she is something of a night owl.  Just like when I was in elementary school I was awakened by her to go to bed because I had fallen asleep on the couch.  I'm so fortunate to have such a wonderful Mother that would give up her weekend to come, watch the baby, and help me clean.  Blessed I believe is the most appropriate word.  Nate also had a great time.  I know that it was good for him to get away for the weekend but Cooper, Lola and I sure are glad to have him home!

One more week of school and I will be on spring break.  Cooper and I have big plans.  Hopefully we will get a chance to see Laura and Baby Blake (who is going to be five weeks this week!), I'm going to the eye doctor, and Mom and I are taking a day to go shopping.  Okay.  So it's not the same as the big plans that I used to have.  Those plans always entailed the following:  1) buying a new bikini and other essential warm weather wear, 2) hitting the gym beginning in February so as to look decent in said bikini, 3) hitting the tanning bed for at least two weeks prior to spring break so that I would not spend my vacation looking like a lobster, 4) downloading a "Spring Break Playlist" onto my iPod mini - which to look at now is not so mini (said list usually consisted of Usher, Justing Timberlake, Destiny's Child, some song about "getting low" and the other newest R&B and pop songs), and 5) heading south with my girlfriends to a much warmer place than Indiana.  Now I'm pretty sure preparing for spring break will be the following:  1) buying new clothes so as to fit over my new "Mama figure" which, let's face it, just won't look the same in a tube top, 2) running - to the kitchen that is for my new bag of potato chips, 3) instead of tanning my legs, maybe I'll shave them, 4) did somebody say Radio Disney?, and 5) heading south - to the couch to catch up on my smut TV that has been DVR'd because I can't stay awake to watch it in it's typical 10:00 time slot.  And you know what?  I wouldn't change a thing about it.  Because this spring break is going to be spent with Cooper.  Evenings with Nate and a couple of nights with my Mom will round it out and I can't wait.  Because as you get older, your priorities change and there is nothing, NOTHING on this earth that I love more than my family.

As I type this, ISU won the Missouri Valley championship.  They're going to the tournament and that is SO EXCITING!

Here are some pictures from our weekend.  Of course, I was instructed on Friday to send as many pictures as possible of Cooper to Nate so I have quite a few.  I'll share my favorites!
