I love making lists. It's one of my things. Now, I might not always follow that list which results in a total waste of time, but it's fun to make it anyways.
This summer I'm making a list. It's things that I hope to have accomplished before I go back to work in August. Typically I don't share my lists. But this time, I'm going to. It's my hope that the two of you that actually read this blog will hold me accountable for it. That when you see me or talk to me on the phone or text me you'll say, "Hey, how is....going?" And I'll have to own up to it. So here goes nothing.
1) Have Cooper sleeping through the night consistently. I'm pretty sure that this will not only be the most difficult goal to achieve, but it will also be the most imperative. I was kicked in the ribs enough when I was pregnant. I don't need it anymore. Nor do my ribs.
And anyways, how does an eight month old get away with thinking that he is the sole owner of a king size bed? I mean, the kid is less than 20 pounds. This...is...ri-donk-ulous.
2) Get my house organized. Good luck with that one Stacia! Have you seen your desk?
3) Teach Cooper how to wave. He must learn now how to wave away all of the girls that he'll undoubtedly be fighting off. Stay away girls. He has a golf career in front of him. NO DISTRACTIONS!
4) Learn how to use my camera proficiently. This is necessary as I only know how to use one setting besides Auto.
5) Help Lola to DROP THAT WEIGHT. Drop it low girl. Drop it reeeeeal low.
6) Learn to use Quicken. Does anyone have any tips on this? I've tried several times but always end up getting burnt out.
Besides, I have better things to do. Watch the Real Housewives, eat potato chips, watch 16 and Pregnant, eat some chocolate, watch Jerseylicious, change a diaper, eat some cookies, watch Sister Wives. I could go on and on, but you might get disgusted with me. My love for reality television and junk food isn't natural folks.
7) Create a successful weblog that is in depth and insightful. More on this to come.
8) Get my kid to crawl. Or walk. Or something mobile. For crying out loud, I'm not going to carry him through the graduation line in 18 years so he had better get to learning.
9) Go on a "stay-cation" with my wonderful husband in Indianapolis. Overnight. Sans baby. I hope that Nate and I can hold a conversation. I'm pretty for sure that we've forgotten how. And 24 hours with no diapers to change? Well, that is depending on what Nate and Zach get in to. Get away from the kids and things might tend to get crazy. Wait, scratch that. Put Nate and Zach together in any situation and I'm pretty sure something is going to happen . But hey. What happens in Indy stays in Indy.
Do you think Nate will let me control the remote that night?
10) Learn how to Dougie.
(For those of you that have NO CLUE what I'm talking about, *cough* MOM *cough,* YouTube it.)
In all, a tall order. But I think that it can be done! I will revisit this list later to see how many of the things can be checked off. If the rest of my summer is as productive as today (screaming kid, dirty dog, lost mind) then I truthfully think there's no hope. But...DARE TO DREAM FOLKS! Dare...to...dream.
